Ladders Out of Poverty

Do you wish that legislators knew what you know about the challenges Minnesota households face–saving, finding good financial products, getting out of debt, moving forward?
There is a ready-made opportunity for you to bring what you know and what you envision as possible. Eight legislators have launched Ladders Out of Poverty — a bi-partisan task force that includes representatives from the Department of Commerce and the Attorney General’s Office. The task force is looking for strategies that would help low income Minnesotans develop and secure financial assets, develop greater financial capability, and find ways to build relationships in communities that address the isolation of poverty.
There are three working groups and citizens are encouraged to participate. These are: 1. Asset Building, 2. Financial Education/Literacy, and 3. Community Supports. There are a number of ways to engage in this work, including the following: join one of the work groups, sign up to get updates, or share information or ideas you have with members of the work group.
